Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026 (Version 1.2)

This policy covers the CruiseOutlook.com website and the CruiseOutlook mobile app for iOS and Android (together, the "Service").

Information We Collect

CruiseOutlook.com collects information to provide better services to our users. We collect information in the following ways:

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you provide.
  • Usage Data: We collect information about how you use our service, including pages viewed, searches performed, and cruise reports accessed.
  • Device Information: We collect device-specific information such as your browser type, app version, operating system, IP address, and crash and diagnostic data.
  • Push Notification Token (app): If you enable notifications in the app, we store a push token for your device, along with your notification preferences and time zone, so we can send them.
  • Location: We do not collect your device's precise location. Weather and port information is based on the ships, ports, and itineraries you choose. Our servers see your IP address, from which our advertising partners may infer an approximate location.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our cruise weather tracking services
  • Process premium subscriptions and manage account access
  • Send you important updates about your account or our services
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve our website and services
  • Prevent fraud and ensure the security of our platform

Mobile App

  • Push notifications: We send the Daily Brief and weather alerts only if you turn them on. We stop sending when you turn them off in the app, and we delete your push token when you delete your account. Notifications are delivered through Apple and Google's push services, with Expo as our delivery provider.
  • Stored on your phone: Your saved cruises, cached forecasts, and Ship Stack records are kept on your device. Uninstalling the app removes them from the device.
  • Account deletion: You can delete your account in the app or on the website. Deleting it permanently removes your account, saved cruises, notification settings and push tokens, and page-view history from our systems. Our payment processor may retain transaction records as the law requires.

Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties, except in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We may share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website and providing services to you.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Remember your preferences and settings
  • Analyze website traffic and usage patterns
  • Provide personalized content and advertisements
  • Maintain your login session

You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences, but disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of our website.

Advertising

The free Service is supported by advertising.

  • Website: Our advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads, which may include personalized ads.
  • App: The app shows ads from Google AdMob and its ad partners. These partners may collect your device's advertising identifier, IP address, and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads.
  • Your choices on iOS: The app asks permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before tracking you across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, or later change this in iOS Settings, your advertising identifier is not used for tracking.
  • Ad privacy choices: The app includes an "Ad privacy choices" option where you can review and change your advertising consent. On Android you can also reset or delete your advertising ID in device settings.

Third-Party Services

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (such as weather data providers, payment processors, push notification delivery, advertising, and analytics services). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access, update, or delete your personal information, including by deleting your account in the app or on the website
  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Opt-out of promotional communications
  • Request that we restrict processing of your data

Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
