Cruise Outlook's Story
Cruise Outlook launched in 2012 when founder Kevin Cristella was planning a two-week honeymoon cruise with his fiancee. While preparing for the trip, he found it tedious to check seven separate port forecasts one by one. To simplify things, he built a single-page website that gathered every port's forecast into a single table.
When Kevin shared that consolidated view with fellow travelers, the response was immediate; the idea was such a hit that people on board dubbed him "the weather guy." After the trip, he turned that prototype into the first version of Cruise Outlook, delivering eight-day forecasts across eight cruise lines.
Today, Cruise Outlook supports 21 cruise lines, offering insight into other ships in port, live cameras, and real-time ship positions. In April 2016, Cruise Outlook introduced a premium service with extended 15-day forecasts, hourly outlooks, weather charts, UV index data, and local time tracking for itineraries that cross time zones. Two years later, premium members gained access to exclusive sea-day weather forecasts, a marquee feature still unmatched anywhere else and a favorite of frequent cruisers planning their days on board. The platform has grown into a trusted planning companion for cruise travelers worldwide.
